Grant application

On 1 January 2022, the Directorate for Remembrance, Culture and Archives (DMCA) put in place a “one-stop shop” for grants for remembrance projects relating to contemporary conflicts in which France has participated, enabling applications to be submitted online. Any organisation with a SIRET number may submit an application using a single submission form.

Corps 1

Applications will be received by the DMCA, then distributed as follows for processing:

  • projects with national reach (historical subject-matter with a national reach or addressing a regional, national or international audience, e.g. D-Day landings, Vercors, Oradour, Verdun, etc.), by the offices of the DMCA’s Subdirectorate for Combatant Remembrance (SDMC);
  • projects of local interest (addressing an essentially local or departmental audience, local remembrance, etc.), by the National Office of Veterans and Victims of War (ONAC-VG).

Grant awards will be decided by these bodies, after their respective award committees have issued their opinions. Applicants will be notified as to which office will be processing their application.

To be able to submit an application, your organisation is required to:

  • have a SIRET number and up-to-date details held with the INSEE (registered address, etc.);
  • be able to provide an RIB (relevé d’identité bancaire) containing the exact bank details held with the INSEE (identical name and address).

Private organisations must be up-to-date with all their legal obligations and, where applicable, have reported how previous grant awards were used.

Please note that any support from the Ministry of the Armed Forces or ONAC-VG should be in addition to a funding plan involving your organisation’s own resources and other public or private grants, up to a maximum of 25% of the projected overall project cost.
