Interdepartmental protocol strengthening the link between youth, defence and national security

This new Protocol to be signed soon follows on from five other protocols

linking Defence to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education,

successively signed in 1982, 1989, 1995, 2007 and 2012.

This Protocol incorporates the changes made by the large mobilization for the school of the Republic, the citizen reserve developments and the Government plan to combat racism and anti-Semitism.

It is of particular importance given the players involved (3 ministries involved:) Defence, Education - Higher education and research, Agriculture agri-food, forestry) and the measures proposed to concretely foster 'defence values' among the youth and the educational community.

It is structured into three operational areas:

  • Develop the teaching of defence
  • Facilitate the integration of young people through defence and the army nation link
  • Facilitate Defence recruitment and retraining of military personnel for civil society

It is backed up by practical and legible actions, some of which exist already. Its realistic nature is one of its strong points.

Its advantage is that it acts on different segments of the army /nation link: insertion of young people, defence education, research, skills gateways between the youth and the careers proposed by the Ministry of defence.

It offers in this sense a transverse and pragmatic approach more rooted in the rural and professional environment through the network of agricultural teaching institutions.
